Parents and Guardians, Letters of Notification for Summer School are going home with students today, and will be mailed to virtual students. These letters were based on grades on the last progress report that went home. It is important to note that students still have time to avoid summer school by working in class to bring up their grades. Please complete the bottom portion of the letter and send it back to school with your student next week. If no response is received by Thursday, we will be making phone calls home to discuss. Feel free to call the school with any questions you may have, 502-255-7781. Thank you!

Students and Families: It is almost that time of year for state testing. Students in 7th, 8th, 10th and 11th grade will be taking K-PREP (Kentucky Performance Rating for Educational Progress) in areas of Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies and On-Demand Writing. This year, students should be able to accomplish all testing in one day as the test has been modified during the COVID 19 Pandemic. Students in the 10th grade will test May 5th, 11th grade will test May 6th, and 7th/8th grade will test May 10th. If you are a virtual student, you are encouraged to come to the school on your test day and test with your class. If you are virtual and would like to make other arrangements, please contact your virtual liaison. Virtual students need to communicate and confirm your plan for testing to the following: Michelle.Jones@trimble.kyschools.us for virtual B and Amy.Pyles@trimble.kyschools.us for virtual A. You may also reach out to Andrea.Howerton@trimble.kyschools.us. Please contact one of the above by May 3rd so we can plan accordingly.

Students, Parents and Guardians: As the end of the school year quickly approaches, we want to inform you of the eligibility requirements for referral to summer school. Summer school will be offered at TCJSHS for the core content areas of English, Math, Science and History. Students must earn a 55%, during the regular school year, to be referred for summer school. Summer school dates and times will come in a later communication. Many students are working to complete missing assignments in classes, and we feel it is important to remind everyone of our Late Work Policy that states: “Late penalties for daily assignments may be applied as follows: 1 Day = 10% grade reduction 2-3 Days = 20% grade reduction 4+ Days = 50% grade reduction Daily Assignments will not be carried over from one unit of study to another.” Please encourage your student to work on MOST RECENT assignments first, as they continue to work, and to follow up with their teachers for class specific information. Also, please remember ESS is offered on Tuesdays and Wednesday, after school until 4:30. Additional tutoring options may be scheduled with Mrs. Pyles.
