t has been a GREAT week back at Trimble County Schools!!! It was refreshing to see our students again after such an extensive break. I can’t begin to thank everyone for their support in ensuring such a smooth transition for our students return. Our school staff has been phenomenal, and so have our parents and students. It’s truly a team effort! The county incident rate remained fairly steady with a slight increase this past week and as of Thursday the incident rate was 57. The district has seen a gradual decline in positive cases this past week and currently between students and staff there are 6 active cases. Based on the number of students and staff in the school district that’s the equivalent of .004 positive cases in the district. We are hopeful that we will not experience a significant increase of cases within Trimble Co. Schools although we understand it is highly likely that the county incident rate is predicted to increase over the next two weeks. We will continue to monitor our data and will make modifications as necessary. We will continue with in-person classes, Monday through Thursday of next school week and will do all that we can to provide the safest school measures possible. Remember, you can check our real-time covid data to monitor the cases in the district. Thanks again for all you do for our students and have a great weekend! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jEwa25EUbp9THp9mL-FuRXaDvv1EbWRit3fSces2ePA/edit?usp=sharing

Important reminders: • All the Healthy at School guidelines are still in place, including wearing a face covering, temperature checks, hand-washing and social distancing. • Families are still required to report a positive COVID test or COVID exposure to your child’s school or the district health coordinator. This will assist us in doing our own contact tracing, and fulfill the requirement that those incidences are reported to the state. • PLEASE, do not send your child to school with symptoms. We ask that you err on the side of caution and keep your child at home. Consult with the school’s nurse or front office on when your child can safely return to school. • Meal services will resume this week for pick-up and meal delivery. • Students’ placements for the remainder of the second 9 weeks - either online or in-person - will be the same as they were prior to Thanksgiving. If you wish to change your child’s placement for the third grading period beginning Jan. 20, you must request that change by contacting your child’s school no later than Friday, Jan. 8, 2021 at 3pm. • We will continue to provide virtual instruction for those families that feel their students are safer learning from home. • Please be aware that our return plan includes the possibility of moving to a hybrid schedule with Blue/Gold Learning days, closing an individual classroom, school or the entire district due to staffing issues or outbreaks. If any of our plans change, you will be notified as soon as possible. We appreciate your support and we can't wait to see our students back on Tuesday!

We are most hopeful that you all have enjoyed a healthy, happy Christmas Holiday and are gearing up for the New Year! We certainly are doing so and are eager to see our students! Thankfully, Trimble County’s Covid Incidence rate has seen a steady decline the past couple weeks and currently the rate stands at 27. With the current data where it stands, TC Schools will resume in-person classes on Tuesday, January 5, 2021. Monday, January 4th will be a teacher/staff professional day that will be utilized to ensure covid related protocol and safe school measures are reviewed and fine-tuned to ensure the safest return possible for our students. Virtual students will also resume their classes on January 5. TC Schools will continue to follow the same instructional model as the first semester. In-Person students will physically attend school Monday-Thursday. Fridays will be NTI Days for all students. I assure you that we will continue to monitor the incidence rate in the community and school district. It is probable that the rate will increase later in January, as a result of Holiday gatherings. If we see a significant increase in cases, at that time, we will be prepared to move to a hybrid schedule with Blue Learning Days and Gold Learning Days. Prior to making this change, we would do our best to thoroughly communicate what that schedule looks like for each of our families. If you have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call us. We are SO EXCITED to resume classes with our in-person and virtual students on January 5th. See you then!!!

• Blue learning days would mean that students in the “Blue” Group would attend in person classes on Mondays and Wednesdays and would do virtual learning on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students whose last name begins with any letter from A through M are in the Blue Group. • Gold learning days would mean that students in the “Gold” Group would attend in person classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays and would do virtual learning on Mondays and Wednesdays. Students whose last name begins with any letter from N to Z are in the Gold Group. • Fridays would still be NTI learning days for all students. • If there are siblings in a household with different last names, the oldest child’s last name in the household is used to determine if your children will attend in person on blue days or gold days. We are not saying that we WILL return using this Hybrid Blue/Gold Schedule… we don’t know yet. Once again, we are monitoring our county covid data daily and will not make a decision until we are closer to January. We just want you to know that this has been created as another option. If you have questions or need clarification on any of the information provided, please don’t hesitate to call us. We’ll do our best to answer any questions or concerns that you may have! Happy Holidays!!!

Just this week the Governor provided new guidance and recommendations for re-opening our schools to in-person learning in January. The recommendation was that students not return in person until January 11th. Currently, Trimble County students are scheduled to return to in-person learning on Monday, January 4th, 2021 however, at this time, Trimble County has one of the highest incident rates in the state of Kentucky. Therefore, instead of making a decision at this moment, we will continue to monitor the incident rate for Trimble County and the number of cases within the school district also. We have set December 30th as a deadline and we will communicate with you on December 30th, our intentions for returning. I hope that all of our students that selected the in-person learning option will be able to return in person following the holidays. However, if our incident rate is still extremely, high, we have developed another option that could be used to help Trimble students return sooner than later. We have created a Hybrid In-Person Learning Schedule. A hybrid schedule would allow us to reduce the numbers of in-person learners on a given day so that socially distancing at all times could be achieved. We would have Blue learning days and Gold learning days.

Good morning students and families. This week's meal delivery and pick-up will be on Wednesday, December 16th instead of Friday. Since we will be utilizing our Transportation Department on Wednesday to support Food Service, there will be not be transportation provided for small group instruction. We will still be offering our small group sessions at all schools in the morning and afternoon, there just won't be bus service provided. We are sorry for any inconvenience that this may cause. It's so hard to believe this is our last week before Christmas Break.... Let's make it a great week!

According to yesterday's Incidence Rate Map for Trimble County, the incidence rate was at 65.8. In order for students to be able to return in person next week, the incidence rate would have to be at or below 25. Therefore, we will continue with plans for small group and virtual instruction for next week. Meal Delivery and pick-up will continue. Let's all do our best to mask-up, social distance and follow guidance to get our students back in-person as soon as possible...We miss them dearly!

In accordance with the executive order enacted by the Governor, Trimble County Schools will not be returning to in-person learning on December 7, 2020. The order states that if a county is still in the red category, no in-person learning can take place. Today’s county incidence rate is 35.4 and Trimble County needs to be at 25 or below to return in-person. We will re-evaluate our county incidence rate again next Thursday to determine if in-person learning could resume on December 14, 2020. In the meantime, we will continue with virtual learning for students in grades K-12, small-group instruction in alignment with the Healthy At School Guidance and meal pick-up/distribution. Should you have additional questions, please feel free to call our board office at 502-255-3201 or your child’s school. You can view the statewide incidence rate here: https://kygeonet.maps.arcgis.com/apps/opsdashboard/index.html#/543ac64bc40445918cf8bc34dc40e334

Happy Friday TC Students and Families! It’s hard to believe that we begin in-person classes on Monday. We never would have thought that when we sent students home on March 13th 2020, that we wouldn’t see them again until almost October…and it is finally here! We are excited to begin face to face instruction next week! I cannot express my overwhelming gratitude and appreciation for the entire Trimble County Staff…. I am proud of their dedication and compassion that so many of us have witnessed. They have worked tirelessly to make the best of this situation. I hope the materials and information that we share with you have been helpful. We want to be very transparent about the covid data in our school district, so we have created a Trimble County Schools COVID-19 Dashboard to keep the community informed. This link will be on our district web-page for anyone to have access to view at any time. The dashboard shows new cases daily, active cases, and number of students and staff in quarantine. The data on the dashboard has been confirmed through the health department or a medical facility and then communicated to our office. Please let us know what questions you may have concerning the dashboard data. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jEwa25EUbp9THp9mL-FuRXaDvv1EbWRit3fSces2ePA/edit?usp=sharing

Important information regarding Food Service Meals… Thank you to everyone that has participated in the Friday Meal Distribution program! We’re so happy that we’ve been able to help the families in our community during this trying time. We’re even more excited to see all of the smiling faces returning to our schools this coming Monday, September 28th! If your student is coming back for “In-Person” learning, they will no longer receive the bulk meal distribution on Fridays, as they will be fed those meals while in our buildings. If your student is not returning in person and will be a virtual student, they are still eligible for Friday bulk meal distributions. We have the updated list of virtual students but if you would like to confirm, please fee free to call us at 502-663-0043 or 502-663-0101. Thank you and have a great day! #weareTC
