Parents/Guardians of Juniors: March 7th is the ACT for all Kentucky Juniors. This is a state mandated test. ALL Juniors are required to take the ACT test. All Juniors get to take this test for FREE! Please ensure your student arrives at Trimble County Jr/Sr High by 8:00 am on March 7th. They must have their Chromebook charged and ready. They may bring a personal ACT approved calculator, a snack for the break and a sealed bottle of water. Students will finish testing at approximately 12:15pm. Attention Senior Parents! This scholarship is due February, 28th. I apologize for the late notice, but I just received the informational email and wanted to pass it on to you.
Mr. Joey Martin will be in our school on Wednesday at 2:00 pm to discuss the Dow Apprenticeship and other Future 42 opportunities. This is a wonderful opportunity for graduating seniors and we encourage all that are interested to attend. If you co-op, attend the afternoon ATC or are at Ivy Tech during this time, please make your supervisor/instructor aware and plan to be at the JR/SR High for this important meeting. The deadline to apply is Thursday so make Wednesday at 2:00 a priority! While not currently eligible, interested juniors are also invited to attend and get a head-start on next year's apprenticeship programs!
8th grade students that are interested in attending iLead Academy next year can still register for the iLead open house. iLead is our regional STEM academy located in Carroll County. Open house will be tonight and tomorrow night from 5:30-7:30 pm. Governor's School for Entrepreneurs application launches November 14th. GSE is a three week residential program at Northern Kentucky University during the summer. This program is for those 9th, 10th and 11th graders who have a desire in the areas of: engineering, tech gurus, hackers, public speakers, leaders, creative thinkers, scientists and more. If this may seem like something you are interested, there is a virtual learning event on October 19th from 4:30-5:30. There is not a school nomination for this program. The Governor's School for the Arts application is open. GSA is a tuition-free residential summer program for passionate and talented young artists from across the Commonwealth. This application is for current high school sophomores and juniors. There is no school nomination process for GSA applicants; rather, students complete an online application for GSA that includes recommendation forms that can be completed by teachers and/or administrators. Parents and Students: If you missed the opportunity to take the PSAT, there is still time. The PSAT is a test that can qualify Juniors to enter the National Merit Scholarship Program and connect students to $300 million in college scholarships. We encourage underclass to take the PSAT so they can have a "practice" run and an opportunity to take part in a standardized timed test. This is a different kind of test that they are not accustomed to. There is a fee of $20.00. If you are interested in signing up, please contact Ms. Howerton at andrea.howerton@trimble.kyschools.us no later than October 17th. The test will be held at TCJSH on October 25th.
ACT is tomorrow for the Seniors who signed up! Please charge your school issued Chromebook, bring a sealed water bottle or refillable container and your ACT approved calculator (one will be provided if you do not have one). Please get a good nights rest, eat breakfast and be in your testing room by 8:10 am. Please remember that all electronic devices such as phones and smart watches will need to be turned off and left in either your backpack or your locker. These items are not permitted in the testing room. Have a great night and see you tomorrow!
Attention Seniors and Senior Parents:
This is a reminder that we will be hosting a FAFSA Night in the high school library on October 11th at 6pm. This will be a time for us to assist you in filling out this essential document for continuing education for your child. This does include any form of post-secondary education including standard undergraduate school, technical school, community college and even cosmetology school. We will have financial aid representatives on site to answer any questions and provide assistance. You will need to bring the following items with you:
• Social Security Numbers
• Student Driver's License (if applicable)
• Bank Statements or Records of income
• Federal Income Tax Returns/W-2s

Juniors and Seniors: Any Junior or Senior taking a Dual Credit class at JCTC/UK/NKU/MSU or any other college course, tomorrow is the last day to make your selection to receive Dual Credit Scholarship and Work Ready Dual Credit Scholarship for the fall semester.
